@any 2.4k+ hunter

I'm a 1900 hero and would love some tips.

I notice I die to lock and feral fast, any way to counter this?

I have major los problems, any positioning tips?

any general tips are welcome!
Better teammates, better positioning. As the focus target for the opposing team in 3s, you have two strengths:

a) you control the positioning of the enemy melee and, by proxy, the positioning of his healer,

b) you get an extra interrupt that puts you close to Mage/Warlock in terms of rotational lockouts in that Feign Death is usable while spells are being cast on you.

What you can do is ensure you cast Chimera Shot on cooldown(every 9 seconds), you keep Concussive Shot up on your Focus target, cast Silencing Shot as well as you can as close as you can to its cooldown, and land at least every other trap with Bad Manner or Feign Death.

Your spec is more or less fine, your Resilience is a little low but your gear's about a season and a half behind. Hunters should frontload their damage cooldowns and instant CC abilities because the longer a game goes on, the weaker you'll be against teams that have far superior synergy/inherent strengths.

I don't know what comp you play but whatever it is, your second DPS has to generate as much offensive pressure as possible in your, "opener" in order to take some of the pressure off of you. A good way to generate this is Hunter's Mark, on use PvP trinket, Chimera Shot, Rapid Fire/Roar of Recovery, Arcane Shot until you can't anymore with an off Silencing Shot, Bad Manner hopefully followed by Scatter Shot->Freezing Trap.

That should be the premise of your 3s game, every single time.

Good luck, yo.
Try trapping off of things other then scatter ie monkey stun or hoj as trapping off scatter is too predictable, as for your gear youre kinda low on resil i would also probably use double on use trinkets instead of the proc one and for positioning you can use your disengage to help close the gap on a enemy trying to line of sight you the entrapment skill also helps with ferals as it roots them to the ground for 4 seconds just watch out because the deadly poison dot does have the tendency to apply a dot that will break your traps on the healer.

Edit: make sure you are using Roar of Sacrifice its a really good skill that a low of the lower tier players ignore and hunters are good you just need to put in the time to learn them

I have been wondering if I should go with double on use, thank you!

@Reedful

Thanks for your input, i have a bad habit of ALWAYS scatter->trapping. I'll remember the things you said.
